Here’s a look at speakers from current and past Justice Semesters!

*Tim Moore (OT and NT)

Since 2001, Tim has served on the faculty of Ambrose University College and is currently an Associate Professor of Youth Ministries. While on faculty, he has also served as ACCESS Director, the Director of Legacy Youth Conference and Campus Pastor. He completed his DMin degree in 2009 at Providence Theological Seminary. His dissertation titled “Holistic Discipleship and Mentoring in Small Group Youth Ministry.”

Bob Keith (Re-entry Preparation)

Bob has served as the Lead Pastor at Grand Centre Alliance Church in Cold Lake AB for twenty plus years. Bob has been involved in For Freedom International and Justice Semester since the very beginning. He brings a wealth of pastoral care and teaching to the JSEM students, especially when it pertains to walking with Jesus and carefully discussing re-entry issues upon returning to Canada from their three-month Gap Semester. Bob is married and has two adult children and one grandchild. On free days you can see Bob cruising the highways on his motorcycle.

*Chantelle McIver (Justice and Compassion)

Chantelle always had a passion to work with the poor, and as she came into relationship with Christ in her teen years, she realized that physical development help for the poor alone was unbalanced and looked to incorporate spiritual growth and everlasting hope. Chantelle has a Master’s in International Development and is passionate about partnering with community champions and holistic development.

Shauna Archer (Missiology/Kairos)

Shauna and her family served Dalat International School in Malysia. Shauna and her husband Tim have been with Living Hope Alliance Church, Regina, since 2016. Shauna gets to hang out with a wonderful bunch of kids as she oversees all programs from birth to Grade 6. Her team includes over 70 dedicated workers who serve on a weekly or monthly basis to create environments where kids can encounter God and the truth of His word in meaningful ways. Shauna’s passion is to not only help kids connect more deeply to Christ but to also partner with parents as they raise godly kids by providing resources and encouragement to families on their faith journey.

 

*Joze Reverente (Turn the Page - Hermeneutics)

Joze and Jocelyn grew up in Christian homes where they accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour at a young age. Jocelyn sensed God’s calling to cross-cultural overseas ministry as a teenager, and Joze received the call after graduating from university. After some education, training and internships, they began serving as a couple with The Alliance Canada in 2011. They have served in Guinea and Niger in West Africa, and through an internship they developed, they were able to visit Senegal and the Middle East. Together they desire to love people, to contextualize and communicate the Good News that Jesus is King to those who have yet to hear and invite them to become part of the family of God. They recently joined the Tokyo Bay Team and are looking forward to working with the team there in serving among the Japanese.

 

Chris and Kaura-lea Codding

Chris recently completed an Apprenticeship at For Freedom International. Now he is seeking further biblical study with a focus on pastoring and biblical counseling. Chris loves any activity that pushes physical boundaries, and wants all those he comes in contact with to know Christ and behold his glory.

Kaura-lea grew up with the mountains and rivers of Western Canada as her playground. After graduating with a Bachelor of Ministry in Intercultural Studies from Ambrose University 2015, she followed God’s call and changed surroundings to the jungles and oceans of Phuket. Since then, she’s been honored to learn Thai, watch For Freedom International grow as an organization, teach their Vocational Training students life skills and self-care, and serve in the international church alongside her husband, Chris.

 
 

Heather Brown (Spiritual Practices)

Pastor Heather joined the First Alliance Church, Calgary, staff in 2006 and is passionate about helping people get to know Jesus better so they can follow Him in a deeper way. When she’s not giving leadership to discipleship pathways at FAC, you’ll find her trying new restaurants, going to movies for the big-screen experience, and hanging out with and cooking for family and friends!

 

*Kris Corbin (Intro to Christian Spirituality; Grip-Birkmann)

Kris coaches and mentors leaders of all kinds. He is passionate about equipping and releasing the next generation of leaders for ministry whether locally or globally.  Kris formerly served as the Senior Pastor of Ritson Road Alliance Church in Oshawa and has served in various pastoral roles previously. A graduate of Briercrest College in Biblical Studies (BA), he’s also a Certified Leadership Coach and has worked with leaders and teams for small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, human resources, churches, and more. In his down time, you can find him enjoying a cup of coffee, spending time with his wife Amanda and their four kids, reading or enjoying the outdoors.

Rhonda Wilson

Rhonda Wilson, a Canadian who has spent more than 20 years teaching and studying languages, development and Peace in the Philippines and now in Southern Thailand. She graduated with her Masters of Intercultural Studies at Ambrose, and was Ordained by the Alliance Canada in 2020. She loves working with kids of all ages which keeps her young at heart!

Paul Beeghly

Paul is passionate about ending exploitation in Thailand and proclaiming freedom in Jesus Christ. He is excited to be the hands and feet of Jesus that help set the captives free! Paul formally served as the communications and teams director for FFI.

Anthony Higgs

Anthony has been serving in thailand for over 30 years and has vast knowledge and experience with different faith backgrounds. He is passionate about evangelism and seeing people encounter jesus. he is excited to teach the next generation of leaders.

Daniel Paras (Comparative Religions)

Daniel came to know Jesus and follow Him before he can remember. “I’ll do anything for you, God—just not missions” was common in his prayers, until Daniel surrendered that last phrase while serving at a Bible camp. 10 months later, he served as a teaching missionary in a country he’d barely heard of. That experience transformed Daniel’s perspective and he’s been wrecked for the ordinary ever since. Daniel and his wife Caral serve in SE Asia.

 

Scott Dixon (Retreat)

Scott and his wife Debbie, have ministered faithfully in Lethbridge AB, at University Drive Alliance Church for 20 plus years. His biblical teaching and pastoral care never skipped a beat. His being in tune with the community and local university has been unrivaled. Scott and Deb have two married children and two grandchildren. When not serving the church body Scott can be seen gazing admirably on Deb’s art work, exploring the sights around him, and even enjoying a round or two of golf.

Darren and Naomi Herbold

Darren aNd naomi are the founding directors of For Freedom International in the USA and Thailand. They are passionate about equipping and releasing young leaders to go and change the world!

Kathryn Klassen

Kathy is the Director of Relational and Spiritual Vitality with the Eastern district of the christian and missionary alliance in Canada. She coaches churches in the areas of deeper life and prayer.  She has served in discipleship with the navigators and then pastored at First Alliance church in calgary, alberta.  She loves hiking, journalling, baking and just enjoying every drop out of life!!!!

You will be able to spend one on one time with members of the ffi thailand team. not only will you be able to learn from them but you will be hanging out and having some good old fashioned fun with the team and their families.

FBI and/or HSI

FFi partners with the FBI and department of homeland security. while we can’t guarantee face time with them, we can say there is a very good opportunity you will be able to meet some of their team and learn how they work to combat trafficking and support local law enforcement to do the same.
